TJC Aligns Leadership Standards With CMS

Legal accountability in health care leadership is increasingly present in communications, regulatory standards and judicial review. On Jan. 9, The Joint Commission’s leadership standards will have an additional element of performance (EP 12) which will apply to hospitals, critical access hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers. The addition will align TJC with CMS Conditions of Participation.

CMS Issues Additional Guidance For VTE eCQM 2016 Reporting

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued additional guidance for the “Device, Order not done” field submission for venous thromboembolism measures VTE-1, VTE-2 and VTE-6 electronic clinical quality measures for calendar year 2016 reporting.
