HHS Releases Health Care Delivery Reform Fact Sheet

Staff Contact: Andrew Wheeler

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services released a fact sheet about the progress and future of health care delivery reform. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced a goal of having 30 percent of Medicare payments flow through an Alternative Payment Model by the end of 2016. The administration met this goal 11 months early. HHS now is announcing that 72 health plans and states, representing almost 200 million people in the nation who are covered by health insurance, have voluntarily reported on the same payment goals. The announcement complements other initiatives that have taken place throughout the last month to move toward health care affordability and quality in Medicare, Medicaid and other private payers.
