Representatives from Missouri’s hospitals traveled to Washington, D.C., recently to meet with members of Missouri’s congressional delegation and offer their views on issues affecting rural hospitals. The delegation urged continued congressional support for the rural health safety net.

Dedicated and competent nurse preceptors are vital to the success of our health care organizations and to the retention of nurses in the nursing profession. Our mission is to take a proactive approach in the education and support of nurse preceptors. The Missouri Nurse Preceptor Academy is a training program for hospital registered nurses serving as preceptors to newly hired nurses. The MHA Center for Education is hosting 34 academies throughout Missouri in 2008.
